No matter how many times I visit small towns or villages in Europe, I’m still always intrigued when I wander the streets and see the old buildings. It’s just not something we see here in California [or much of the States, to be honest], and so while it might not seem so exciting to some, to me each town is always exciting.
Wernigerode is that kind of town. It feels like a bit of a time warp. A lot of my time was spent when it was dark, or in the pouring rain, so I don’t have as many pictures as I would like, but since it was Christmas time the few pictures I got felt extra special. To be honest, I thought I had more pictures, but maybe I was too busy just staring at everything? And running from rain and wind. Either one of those is totally possible.
Happy Wednesday! \o\

Lovely! Reminds me of Solvang, north of Santa Barbara here in California! One of our favorite places to visit.

I still need to go there!

You would like it. It’s a bit of a drive, but worth it. Because of the drive, we spend the weekend, at least. One word of warning…the town closes up around 6PM – only the restaurants serving food are open. ;0)

Oh my goodness that’s so… quaint! It’s like a picture out of a postcard.

It really was so! I wish the weather had been better! I feel that it would have been great to see it bustling with townsfolk, but most were hiding from the awful wind/rain action. XD
