“No great artist ever sees things as they really are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist.”  — Oscar Wilde

One of my almost yearly visits is to the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. I always enjoy seeing their new exhibits, and the atmosphere is so uplifting.

The museum also holds some of my favorite pieces of art.

To this day, I can’t entirely explain why I find this piece of art so entrancing. I love the colors, I love the fogginess, the rocks. . .it’s just a strange feeling I get when I look at it. But I think that’s part of the beauty of art – you don’t have to have a reason for loving it.

By the way, if you like art, you really need to check out the Google Cultural Institute. You can browse art from museums all over the world. You can also save your favorite images in your own galleries so that you can look at them at any time. The future is here!
