Happy New Year!

It’s 2013! I know that 2012 was a rough year for a lot of people. I hope that 2013 is awesome for everyone! I know I am a bit behind on posting this, but traveling and jet lag and my brain. You know.

I’ve posted videos of time spent outside during New Years in Berlin on my Google+ page.

Fireworks in Berlin

The city goes all out – it sounds like war outside. This video isn’t the best quality, so if you want to check out more, just search for Berlin New Years fireworks in YouTube and tons of vids will pop up.
This year I don’t have resolutions so much as I have goals.

  1. Get an agent. There is a lot of detail in this, but I felt like keeping the goals simple as a statement is the best way to start.
  2. Get healthy [again]. I slacked off a lot towards the end of 2012 and started eating what I wanted, sometimes no matter the consequences to how I felt. So more trips to the farmer’s market on the weekends, more packed lunches, less eating out. I’m also looking into different methods of working out that doesn’t cost me a fortune. I love my Pure Barre classes, but they are really, really pricey.
  3. Get writing [more]. Not just my novels, but other things. Short stories, blogs, whatever, I want to push myself creatively however I can so I can grow more as a writer. I’m even considering going back to school to get an MFA [in Professional Writing].
  4. Get more German. I don’t know, I needed to go with the trend of the other three. . .This is a very personal goal. My husband’s family mostly speaks German, and I want to be able to communicate with them better in the future, so I need to push myself to learn the language more.

What kinds of goals/resolutions are you guys going for this year? We survived the end of the world, we can do anything, right? ;)

I’ll leave you with this picture of our pets with their Christmas gifts, because it’s really too cute.
