Wandering Wednesday – Mykonos

“Remember what Bilbo used to say: It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

So this blog post will be a bit short, but that’s partly okay by me because I am absolutely exhausted. I spent 4 hours of my day driving, and that’s just not cool.

One day on this cruise we decided not to partake in the excursions, and this was when we visited the island of Mykonos. Apparently this island is one of the most happening night life locations in Europe!

But we stayed in. >.>

This is also the location where, according to Greek mythology, was the location of the battle between Zeus and the Titans. The island gets its name from Mykons, the grandson of Apollo and the nymph Rio.

Fun fact of the day! :D

Instead of partying it up in this town, we slept in for once [excursions had us usually waking up around 6 or 7am], and then walked from the ship to the nearest little cove of beach.

The water, however, was freezing cold. So we dove in once and then just sunbathed.

My flippy floppy tan lines are awesome, yes?

Though we didn’t go into the town at all, we really enjoyed our short day in Mykonos. It ended up being our only beach day actually! Which was crazy to us, considering we were on a Mediterranean cruise. Guess we need to go to the Caribbean next.

Here is another view of the island when the sun was shining more.

BTW the quote is in honor of the second THE HOBBIT movie trailer that I watched today. I am so bummed we will be in Germany when it comes out!! D;
