“I’m writing this after three glasses of wine.” — Me
August is over, and last month I turned 30 and celebrated 7 years working in my company. That’s a lot going on in one month! I don’t feel 30, though, and I don’t plan on it anytime soon.
My birthday plans included going to Disneyland and hunting down Peter Pan, skipping with him through Fantasyland, and crowing with him. So I think I’m set for a while on the whole not growing up thing. Also, I think I might have to get a pass just for the Starbucks in California Adventure, because holy crap it is HUGE.
My husband also took me to a French restaurant that he discovered, which was a small family owned business. The second I realized it was French I knew why we were there – there’s only one reason he would go to a French eatery.
The Ile Floutante is pretty much my favorite dessert, hands down. I think I’ve talked about it here before. It’s pretty amazing, and if you haven’t had it, you need to do so now. Right now.
As for the day job, it’s still crazy to me that it’s been 7 years since I got tendinitis in my hips and was put on disability. I had sworn I would never work in an office, so it’s weird to know that I’ve ended up doing just that, even if it wasn’t entirely by choice.
In more exciting news, I am officially not being derailed by work and will be at Yaoi Con in Long Beach this year from October 12-14!! I’m so EFFIN’ excited I can’t even. Yaoi Con is my favorite convention, hands down. It’s smaller, 18 and over [it makes a difference, it really does], and full of things very relevant to my interests. I don’t know the full costume line up yet with my partner in crime, but I can assume we will at least have:
These are two cosplays we both love, so I’m sure we will be taking them. We might also have our Ed/Ling cosplays and I’m pretty sure our X-Men First Class ones [Erik and Charles]. That might is a most likely with a side of hell yeah, just for anyone still reading. If you are going, look for us and say hi!
I’m still editing like crazy, and while things are going slower than planned I am actually much happier with how things are changing and progressing with the story, so in the end things should be better off this way! I hope I hope! I still haven’t heard back from the webinar on how my query letter was, though, so I will keep my spirits high for now. I’m also researching for another book I want to write for NaNoWriMo this year, because I am self-torturing like that.
I hope everyone has had an amazing summer! It’s not over yet, so enjoy the last of this awesome weather [if applicable?] while you can!
