Summertime is always the best of what might be.” – Charles Bowden
I hope that everyone has been having an amazing summer so far! For me, things have been really busy ever since we got back from the cruise. This weekend though is the official Do Nothing weekend, and I am taking that very seriously.
I did go to Comic-Con in San Diego, and you can read my posts about it over at Chicks With Crossbows. Part 1 and Part 2. Highlights included getting to finally meet Claudio Sanchez, lead singer and guitarist for Coheed and Cambria, and sleeping on cement to get into the Supernatural panel.
On the writing front, I am currently looking for an editor to help me out with redlining and also just checking that everything flows in the story. So if you know anyone who edits for LGBT fantasy/romance novels, I am an eager customer! ^^ Once I have gone through that process, I am going to be working on sending the manuscript out to agents! I’m a little behind schedule, but I am still aiming to at least have query letters out the door before 2013. If I get farther than that, great!
I am also starting to take some of the seminars that Writers Digest puts together, since writing conferences are so expensive. The first one I’m taking is How to Hook an Agent or Editor With Your Query, and everyone who signs up for the seminar also is guaranteed a look at a query letter they’ve written. I’m hoping to get more great advice from this than I would just reading how to’s from the Writer’s Market and Writing Fiction For Dummies [though these are also great books and my bibles, sitting right next to me now].
Other than that, I am continuing to clean out my parents’ house and finding hilarious moments from when I was younger.
I’m also turning 30 in less than a month, which is really bizarre, because I don’t consider myself almost 30 at all. Where is Neverland and how can I get there?!
I will leave you today with a picture of my pup sitting in the my new car!
